The time is now!
The best time to visit this magnificent city is definitely 2013, when Amsterdam rolls out loads of special events, openings and parties to celebrate its 400 year jubilee. Throughout 2013, a number of museums and art institutions will be celebrating their own milestones, including the Rijksmuseum, 40 years of the Van Gogh Museum, 125 years of the Concertgebouw, 125 years of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, 225 years of Felix Meritis, 175 years of Artis Royal Zoo, and 100 years of the Frans Hals Museum. In addition, the famous Amsterdam canals are also celebrating its 400 year anniversary in 2013. The Bijenkorf Department Store at the Damrak will have beautiful window displays and audio-visual tributes to honour these anniversaries.
